Central Bank of Jordan said, Wednesday, that the income of the tourism sector rose in the first half of the year rose 13.5% to 2.25 billion dollars, compared with the same period of the previous year.
The officials attributed the rise in this sector to improve the income of European visitors, Libyans, Yemenis, along with Jordanian expatriates.
The tourism income grew 1.4% in 2013 to 4.12 billion dollars.
And contributes to the Jordanian tourism sector by 13% of GDP, which is a major source of hard currency upon which Jordan along with remittances in the balance of payments support.
